ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. temp. 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, AH 65-86 / AD 685-705. Pashiz (Bronze, 19 mm, 1.06 g, 12 h), Kazerun, without date. Sasanian style bust to right; behind and before head, AFZUT GDH ('may his kingship increase' in Pahlawi). Rev. The 'falconer', with long floating hair, on horseback to right, holding undetermined object in his left hand; to right, Kazerun (the name of the mint in Pahlawi). Album 45N. Gyselen, type 35A. Very rare. Minor corrosion spots on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
